1st Year, 2nd Semester - London Metropolitan University. (Duo dance with Wayne McGee and Lochei Kusi-Ghent). The recording went wrong at the end, so had to edit the rehearsal video into it.

  • lol thanks. It was in our first year at university, we was told what music to use. The good thing is that its all experimental work. We learn from it.

  • definately not improvisation. hahaha

  • @msm2you feel free to look at the newest video of a collection of dances showing progress from 2008-04/2010 - on the latest video on the channel.

  • @funklilass I fear you misunderstand me. I am aware that it is not a performance. What I getting at is that the piece (up until 0:55) does not reflect what is being played. I see the contact - what I don't see is the improv (I'm going by your own title). But looking at this again, I take back the remark about the aerial as they are there after 1:00.

I am familiar with contact dance and do dance criticism from time to time. (see Green Pear Review)

    Looking forward to further vids.

  • @msm2you - very much agreed and thanks for your comment. However, you're missing the point that it is a task and instructed bassed piece. Not a performace, it's an experimental student piece. Music and type of dance was given to us. It's not about lindy hop or speed.

  • @1hully I agree. The moves don't match the music of the first set. Now, being a West Coast Swing dancer, I'm biased (I don't do lindy hop but a variant of an aeral would be approprate with this tune) - but what I think is missing here is speed and the staccato nature of the music

  • how is this improvisation? at the end, it seemed you switched to somewhere else, and you knew exactly what movements you were supposed to be doing.. no rudeness intended. didnt see the relevance of the music either

  • very nice contact you improvise well together

  • Very good dancers !

  • this is one of the best ones that i have seen on here so for :D
