I didn't notice as bad when it was being riffed, but wow, this is a long song for a movie. Especially when NOTHING happens during it. The cast just watches for three minutes.

Hobgoblins is hands down the funniest of the Pearl episodes, followed very closely by Track of the Moonbeast.

I think the idea behind the movie (aside from being inspired by crack use as Tom and Crow suggested) was to capitalize on the whole "creature flick" craze of the 80's. You had Gremlins, Munchies and Critters all involving cute yet deadly little monsters that ran amok and caused crap.

Gotta love it.
