Islam---Circumcision?

Here's a link to a Muslim website that explains Islam much in the way I see it. I don't agree 100% with them but it does offer a nice non-cultural look at Islam.

I've read the Qur'an.

Nowhere within it is genital cutting (for either gender) mentioned.

It does say the body is created perfect and requires no alteration. For example read 3:191, 4:119, 15:28-29, 27:88, 32:7, 67:3, and

82:7-8 The One who created you, designed you, and perfected you. In whatever design He chose, He constructed it.

95:4 We created man in the best design.

NO national medical association on earth (not even Israel's) endorses routine circumcision.

6:how can satan misled muslims in a practice which has been introduced by the prophet himself and has continued from generations to generations and is beyond dispute .why cannot satan misled the muslims in the case of the quran if it is recieved from the same source as the sunnah?

@THEGREATESTUMMAH Well, then if we could just infallibly hand down rites as performed during Muhammad's time, why the need for Qur'an and it's special protection from ever changing? I believe because it would come to this very issue of Islam being so muddied up with conjecture that it would have to be cleansed again using the Quran. The Quran serves as the litmus test of what to do or not to do and to my thinking circumcison does not add up. And clearly I'm not alone. Do you vaccinate your son?

4:circumcision helps muslims in remaining pure after urinating. If you are not a circumcised man, it is likely that after urinating some drops would remain stuck in the flesh which would make you unclean. God wants His servants to be clean from not just inside but from outside as well.Girl cirmumcision is not allowed in Islam because it is not a sunnah.circumcision has got some medical benefits as well,if you wish i can throw some light on that.

@THEGREATESTUMMAH If this is the case then rip off your fingernails and while your at it cut off your ears because they get dirty too. Muslims wash with water after urinating. i think this should be sufficient, don't you?

alsalam malaikum, I live in Texas. New convert.Ive been asking about circumcision recently. In my head it wasnt that big of a deal. "He said, they said.." I personally was just going to wait till i found it in the Qu'ran myself. Just makes more sense to me. anyways much thanks to Susan for these vids & the healing praxis!!! :D

@quantumsolutions i don't know about that. but somewhere in the quran, it said something about following the "religion of Ibrahim, the upright in faith" or something.

and i think in Abraham's teachings, circumcision is mandatory.

Jut briefly, not related to circumcision.

I am not a fan of Islam, and I think it is oppressive to women, because women can be beaten in it.

As to Jesus, what exactly was the message of Jesus aka the message of Mohammad?

What do Muslims say the message of Jesus Christ was?

And why is the status of human rights and especially women rights in Islamic societies so backward and terrible, but not so in Christian societies, or Buddhist societies, or Jewish societies?

Circumcision are teachings of satans.

We uphold the original deen PERFECTED by Allah in the Quran. Surah 5:5

Allah does not make mistakes, nor does He err: Surah 4:82, 20:52

If it contains one mistake, it does not come from Allah.

Hadith is rife with mistakes.

You are welcome to uphold teachings of satans. But understand this: The Muslims stand ready to fight against the lies and oppression you desire to bring. Surah 2:216
