how is a un-mined coal tax going to make the cost of coal higher? if its not going to be mined, then the price cant be passed on to the consumer. if it is mined then they dont pay the tax... The democrats have the best taxing policy (tax those who can afford them) the current system just doesnt support it, its impossible to tax the capitalist class(top 10%) w/o taxing a company they own since they dont have a income

Eventually it will be mined and the added cost of the un-mined coal tax will be added to the price of coal and that will increase the cost of generating electricity. Bottom line is that it will cost you more to use your computer and make videos! But go and vote Obama! LOL!!!

Webster county. You missed one :P. Yes this law is in place and poor people that happen to have coal under their property are being taxed for it and carpet bagged by the banks. If the people could even get a mining outfit to come take it out of their property they would, but they are at the mercy of the mining companies because you can not mine your own coal with the laws and regulations in place. Coal is a resource. So is water, dirt and grass. How long before your taxed for those?

How in the world did they ever get away with a tax on something that's not used? That's a shakedown... exactly what Obama is an expert at! As for the land, I hope you don't just clear cut it all, and strip it of all its resources. I'm all for capitalism, but we should be good stewards of this earth too! I am a Democrat, I do not hate poor people, I was born into a upperclass white family. I have donated and helped many people in places like E. Kentucky, West Virginia. I do respect your opinions, but i wish we could look past the politics and say fuck the parties and help people who need it.
