People who get close enough to be disarmed...should be shot. lol

@ :52 he goofs it up and misses his grip. An uke can make you look like a champ or sink your demo completely if he is not paying attention and waits too long for your technique.
The moral of the story? Don't try this stuff at home. Experts can still screw up under pristine circumstances even after rehearsing it for years...

@jappyfish The intimidation factor is often a key to criminal success. The martial artist uses that to his advantage. Martail arts like judo and aikido, where you throw or manipulate an opponent, are not about meeting force with force. It's about flowing with the intent and committed energy someone has. That's why we see gun defenses working in the streets. We flow with that intimidation factor and the actions behind it.

@DTHinstructor Seagal is one of the highest ranked aikido teachers on the planet, and does solid aikido disarms in his movies.

Lucky my sensei is not as rough as him. he's so rough to his students.

@radicalteh well moving out of the firing line is definately the RIGHT thing to do just not the always done thing when... sad to say

@crezyte0wnz thank you for your reply, n peace. but you've asked a question. it's not good to have too many questions with your life at stake. so move out of firing line, disarm him. anyway.just my opinion..may not be unversally right..

@radicalteh could you react by shooting while surprised and not even having a second to pull the trigger before you're disarmed?

fast n good but he didnt move out from the line of fire. he didnt protect himself
That's Hollywood techniques that make the movies interesting. You must watch your surroundings and protect the people that are around from being shot from an accdential discharge. These techniques when done properly, the gun is facing back at the subject so if the gun does go off it will strike the subject not other people. In Seagal's movies this isn't so it's for show and that's it. When doing disarms you are responsible for that weapon if it goes off. I am a Seagal fan and love the action.
