  • The first line in my translation is, "Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, I don't know." The last line is, "For everything to be consummated, for me to feel less alone, I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution, and that they greet me with cries of hate." Not immensely different, just a little different.

Which translation do you have? Laredo's?

The version I have is Matthew Ward. You boys are cute talking about one of the best books ever written.:)

  • @misscharlottemariee ah I am not sure about mine, because it's still in a box somewhere - I need bookshelves! And I don't know which one Kris read. Anyway's thanks for your nice comments and please check out our other videos and.. y'know, subscribe if you fancy it, and haven't already.

  • Have you guys done any Dosteovsky? If not then you really should.

  • @Dinasourmaddog4 we did notes from underground which was novella by him, we would like to do more but his books are generally on the long side for our club we try to do around 200 pages. everyone should read him though =]

  • What up, bitches? Do an Iain Sinclair book next, I recommend Slow Chocolate Autopsy, or a Artaud novel, I know he's French but get into it!

    Best.

  • thanks for the recommendations we'll see what we can do when we return =]

  • Camus was an absurdist!

  • What's the relevance of him being French? Good book though.
