Courtesy of our partners at Hitachi Health Systems, Diagnostic Imaging Services has the ONLY bore-less high field open MRI unit in the state of Louisiana! For the patient, without the bore (the tube-like opening that a patient enters when a MRI is performed), it provides an imaging environment in which nearly the entire testing room can be seen! If you are anxious or nervous due to being claustrophobic, the Oasis unit's open structure works in conjunction with our experienced DIS technologists who are committed to providing a calm, quiet patient visit that aids in completing a study for your physician that takes less time and less scans.

For bariatric patients, the MRI unit's opening can accommodate individuals up to 660 pounds. For older adults, the unit's table lowers to 20", making accessibility more convenient.

A friend, family member or loved one may accommpany a patient and sit with them during the exam!
