Swiss TV apologizes for mistakes in Tibet coverage

The Swiss national network, German TV-1, has apologized for mistakes it made during its coverage of the Tibet issue.

The editor in chief of the Daily News program said previous reports contained obvious mistakes. On the April 19th, the program said that police violence was becoming more serious in Tibet. But the pictures showed Nepalese police confronting Tibetan separatists.

Overseas Chinese organizations in Switzerland wrote to the Daily News program and pointed out the mistake, saying it seriously damaged the image of China.

There are THOUSANDS of news channels in China, and less than half of them are state owned, only Westerners know of CCTV.

CCTV, the worst abbreviation. Why? Because CCTV also stands for Closed Circuit Television which means you know, security cameras watching you everywhere. Now, China already has a bad reputation for being a tyrannical state. Does it want to add that image further with the abbreviation CCTV?
