Questions are fine.
We had to record a commercial that was broadcasted on TV. I was able to see it on TV then find it on youtube. Come to think of it I don't know how I got a copy of the commercial, maybe from their website. Anyway, painstakenly, I watched what happened and went around town and filmed it at similar locations...

and how did you accomplish that? did you help make the original one too? Sorry for so many questions but this is so fascinating to me how you did it.

Well not version. Copy is really the best word. I suppose if it was perfect, you couldn't tell the difference between the two, but obviously the actors and locations are different. I hope that makes sense.

So you take a commercial, and then try to make your own version of it?

It was an assigned project where I was supposed to take a 30 second commercial and do it myself. There is a full screen version available, this one allows you to see the real one and mine side by side; you can see simultaneously what I was trying to do.
