  • And to be honest. It fascinates me to go on Youtube and to watch everybody from all countries including the US come onto to a discussion board and make an ass out of themselves. As it isn't the people of a country full of ignorance but a species of planet earth that is filled with ignorance. So, to keep things on topic. Good work China on the Gold. Because I'm tired of seeing international pissing contests on youtube that have nothing better to do then to toot their own god damned horns.

  • Seeing that only the ignorant Americans are responding back then yes I do believe the majourity of the American population is in fact ignorant. You do realise that the rest of the world watches the news right? Not just 'debates,' but more along the lines of announcements, meetings, etc. That's were we make our assumptions and most are true as well. You Americans just watch the media and since we are on topic about China, Americans were the only ones mad about so-called underage girls competing.

  • US President Bush must have felt awkward sitting next to Russian President Putin in the Birds Nest during the Olympic games when Russia was just starting to invade Georgia...

How can Presidents be so far away watching Olympic games in China while supervising a war back in their home countries. =-P

  • @belledufleur You know what makes me sad, is that people(not just Americans) tend to pay more attention to the sports that their country are stronger at, not for the love of the sport itself.

  • The Chinese have worked hard for decades to achieve this, so they deserve it in my opinion.

But I do hope that the U.S. wins the upcoming London Olympic games!

  • @russiangymfan i know who you're talking about, he got a cortisone shot for an injury and didn't fill out the proper paperwork so he tested positive for... you guessed it... cortisone! simple mistake, plus he only got a warning. However, there have been other, more serious, incidents like Yuri Van Gelder caught with Cocaine in his system and Gervasio Deferr with marijuana. However, there is, without a doubt, a double standard.

  • What about the 11 Chinese swimmers who tested positive for steriods in '94, 4 in '98 and the fact that China removed four women from it's swimming team before the 2000 Olympics because of questionalbe drug tests?

I think the Chinese men did a great job and deserved every gymnastics gold they earned. The women kicked ass as well. Why does this have to be so political?

  • One of the Hamm brothers was tested using illegal drugs before the Beijing Olympics. Another u.s. male gymnast was found using illegal drugs a year before. If this had happened to a Chinese or a Russian, American media and fans would have concluded that the whole Chinese or Russian team is on drugs. See their double standard?

  • do they look to young too America.
