Knotts Berry Farm is teaming up with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) in offering free training to service animals and their handlers to help ease anxiety when riding the bus.

The event will be held at the Fullerton Park 'n' Ride on Oct. 3 from 8 a.m. to noon.

As part of the OCTA training, Knotts Berry Farm will allow up to 150 handlers and service animals entry into the theme park from 10 a.m. until noon. OCTA will distribute the Knotts Berry Farm wristbands, required for free admission, at the Fullerton Park n Park.

The training is important because many animals experience apprehension from vibrations and noise made by the bus and from the opening and closing of the bus doors, making the ride difficult for the animal and handler.

  • We had a great time at the OCTA Service Animal Training. We appreciate all the time and effort you put into offering us this wonderful training day. We even added a video of our experience on our YouTube channel and wrote a short blog article. Thanks and we'll see you next year!

  • This was a great day- we enjoyed every part of it! Thanks for providing the opportunity to the dogs and raisers- the Knotts Berry Farm was a great addition to the day- thanks for being so generous!
