Mate....you ALWAYS tin wire that you are going to solder, always always always. I would be shot if I did any of my soldering like that at work :). Flux isn't conductive so you don't need to worry bout that unless you're talking Class 3 IPC standard. Lastly, what's the tape for? :). The joints were exposed anyway so as long as your joint is good you got nothing to worry about. If you really want some protection, grab some conformal coating and spray it on there.
