Rice University students at the George R. Brown School of Engineering have created a pediatric mannequin to train medical students in physical examination techniques. The mannequin has a computer-controlled liver, spleen and lymph nodes to allow students to check for healthy and diseased organs. The project was done at the request of doctors at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital.
