Float on Fire at Wells Carnival

Carnival float catches fire at Wells (Somerset) carnival November 12th 2010. Started out with a bit of smoke and within seconds this.
Should add that the road crew saved the day here, spotting the smoke early and tackling the fire just in time. Could have been a lot worse if the float had got further up Chamberlain Street before it was noticed.

@solarfusionuk good good what time did the fire fighters get there and that must be really embarrassing did the people walk or did they wait till it was out

@mightyboosh45 didn't take long for the fire fighters to arrive. The performers were cheered by the crowed where the float had stopped when they decided to walk the route. Not sure if they carried on and walked the whole route though!

what so it happened during the carnival not when it was parked up i went to Glastonbury  so wont know

Ive been in carnival over 20 years never seen any think like this soo sorry for you guys well done see you back on the road next year.

One good thing is that no one was hurt and you got it all undercontrol just shows that carnival clubs know what they are doing darren (Hot Rock CC)

Very sorry to see this also - the Vagabonds cart was amazing as it rounded the turn into Portway, then it all went bad in seconds. Best of luck to the club for next year.
