Remotely interesting, but the implication in the BOM is that the armor was metal. Read 2 Nephi 5:15 which states "And I did teach my people to ... work in all manner of ... iron, and of copper, and of brass, and of steel, and of gold, and of silver, and of precious ores, which were in great abundance."
Breastplates and headplates were typically made of metal, not cotton.
the problem with all this is that the early people of America and Central America are originated from Asia. not Hebrew Israelites. the sort of armour you mention was common in many parts of the world, the Mayans did not wear as a rule thick clothing. almost all examples of Mayan warfare shows them with smaller lighter garments. in Honduras there is a carving of an elephant, big deal, not one single bone found anywhere. however they did exist in Asia.
We are not claiming that armor period did not exist in any form in those times so it is ridiculous to use that as proof to support your point. Also discoveries in Egypt and Central and South America were developing during Smiths life. Hens his loose (yet still flawed) knowledge of certain types of armor. Hens his theme of "Reformed Egyptian Hieroglyphics" which were fascinating to people at that time.
It is fascinating how non of you "evidence" proves the only point of contention and that is the metal that the BOM DOES claim is there. You say that there is nothing of the Bible in this case that was plagiarized into the BOM. THE METAL was plagiarized. The KJV LANGUAGE was plagiarized.
Actually it *is* the state of reality in lots of sciences. How come its so funny? You really think we *have* found it all in *any* branch of science?! Can you show me the scientists who say this? Now it's my turn - LMAO!
