"A folk of cheeriness and strength
content with the life they lived
So-called barbarians yet with eyes cleared
for what they truly need and what damn not

free and plain

Barbarians, farmers and savages
counted as ignorant and uncivil
But told to bow before the emperors throne
they were at least not venal

True and plain freedom - of this natures clan
True and plain pride - of this Celtic clan
True and plain dignity - Tegernako!

Not for riches, not for sway
not for economic benefits
met they the emperors requirements
for freedom can't be bought"

  • @Sandermatt87 The Romans not only accepted it, they encouraged homosexuality. It was considered the sincerest form of friendship.

  • @MADdwarfWorkshop you have an awesome point, and I think agree with what ur saying but it also says that Christ intended religion to be pure and righteous. Christ wasn't against religion i don't think. I think he was against what the world sees religion as, and against using religion for immoral purposes like greed and arrogance.

  • Spirit is for me the definition of folk/pagan metal.

Raw and heavy blended with traditional instruments.

Still Eluveities best album. Let's see what Helvetios brings.

  • @neoganja Eluveitie (El-ve-tay)

  • @claudichameleon They're not "Vikings." Vikings were high Germanic nomads of the Baltic; The Gauls and Elveitians were Celtic people of a culture and language that originated around the Danube, and eventually stretched as far as Spain and the British isles. The only Celtic languages that remain are those similar to Irish, Scottish, and Welsh Gaelic.

  • met they the emperors requirements

    for freedom can't be bought!!!!

  • @asabovesobelow90 xaxaxaxaxa flogged them :P

  • @asabovesobelow90 agreed. their German-Swiss... 'Helvetica' was Roman for Helvolken, Germans of Viking descent. they're Vikings.

  • I like the tune. But concerning Eluveitie, I largely prefer the female voice (like in Slania's song for example)

  • @SuperMusicHero I know what Rome was smart one......

  • This is beautiful music From a Citizen of the Earth!!!

  • @metalluv4 romans=/=greeks. It's not just because Eluveitie is in Barbarian side that you can confuse the cultures of old. And BTW, the romans were celts+greeks+anatolians. They were as celt as the Helvetii before the etruscans =D
