@BigotesMcbuff i think the first part of the word homosexual "homo" comes from a greek word "omo" which is used as a part of word to give a meaning of "same" or "equal". i don't think it comes from "homo" as in human. plus the greek translation is "omofyllofilos" and if u take the 3 parts individually u get "same" "sex" "friend". anyway i might be wrong but this is what i think...

It's the same in Danish: The word "bøsse" use to be the Danish word for hunting rifle. But at some point it also became the slang for "male homosexual". And today the original meaning has almost vanished.
