testing new antennas and (rssi) lost package indicator for futaba on a windy day, I turned off the 6ex futaba when the plane was 2.4km away to see if the indicator works... next time will go further... does anybody know how many lost packages indicates near lost of control so I can find the limit without losing the plane?

I'm using 1W wifi amp with my futaba and so far I went 3 km away and not a blink on a lost package repeiter... If you have the US version of futaba you should be able to go 2.5 km the EU version has lower output power... it all depends on what type of videolink an the frequency you r on... I have 1W on 1280MHz with low pass filter but it still reduces range a lot... If you gave lower power or on a diferent frequency like 900 or 5.8 the range of 2.4 system should not be afected...

Looks like you're getting very good range with your 2.4GHz Futaba. I've yet to test my range to the max, I've only gone 1150 meters and I'm a bit afraid to go further. I have no RSSI indicators :-S

Do you think it's safe to go 2.5km with a stock 2.4GHz Futaba 6EX with a rubber ducky and a R-617 FS FASST receiver? :-)
