Here's some tips when making the Dennis Havlena PVC instrument. Also, I use flip-flops/ thongs/ sandals to play. Works great! Any questions, comment me. I'll respond promptly.

  • are those expensive to build??

  • @SuperSceneHelloKitty a little bit. the pvc is what costs the most. The total build cost for me was about $60-70. It is very durable though and i still have it.

  • While you're bangin the pipes, can I bang the hot chic ?? lol

  • @SocialFever well, no, but thanks for calling my girlfriend hot ;)

  • "The letters of the names"... you mean... the NOTES... lol... FYI, the resonance of the pipes will be pretty bad if using this method.

  • yeah, i mix up words. lol. and what method would hinder the resonance? i don't use my hands to play. i use flip flops

  • @area51mvh thanks :) i am building one with my friendd for a concert thats comeing up, so yep :) thanks

  • haha make that guitar hero sticker a PVC Hero sticker and your good to go :P

  • Well, anything that the pipes touch will have an affect on the resonance. Having a pipe or two hugging those wooded legs, and holding the pipes by glue in two different places will drastically effect the volume. For these instruments, it's best to only hold the pipe in one place, if possible. This design is neat for a compact instrument though.

  • That is really awesome, I am a huge fan of PVC instruments!

I have to admitt though, I was put off by the "Guitar Hero" sticker.
