This is my Diablo Ducted Fan Jet. I modified the power system from the original brushed motor set up. I'm running a 4875kV 222Watt Ammo motor with a SS-35 ESC. The battery is a 11.1 volt Lipo 1800mah @25C.
The 24-33-4875kV is the largest Ammo motor that will fit in the HyperFlow Ducted jet unit. I added Gyros to the Ailerons and Elevator on this jet. The gyro on the ailerons helps counter the motor torque, and the gyro on the elevator helps counter the nose dipping when the rudder is used. The last Diablo I had, crashed into the ground nose first at full throttle when I lost it in the sun and couldn't recover quick enough.
I like flying fast, but I always seem to have rough landings with the Diablo. If you watch the landing closely, the ground effect pops the jet up and I land in the corn. The corn caught the jet and kept it from hitting the ground. No damage to the jet.

  • Yes I have flown it without the gyros and the motor torque makes it roll to the left, the gyro counters that. I'm not running a stock motor in the pod. Its a 4875kV 222 watt motor, that's about as big a brushless motor as I can stuff in there. The motor draws about 28 amps at full throttle. The stock motor does not have the rpms that the brushless motor has.

  • Thanks for the video and review. It does fly pretty good. Have you tried it without the gyros now that you know it flies??
