I don't get how you can say this movie is propaganda. It pretty much makes everyone at Treasury, Ben Bernanke and the heads of Goldman, CitiGroup and others look like complete dip shits. It seems pretty factual in my opinion. The only thing they didn't go into detail about was how Goldman Sachs and the rating agencies created one of the most bone headed financial instruments in history.

Show me where money was illegally stolen from a client. People who were shocked about what happened merely didn't understand how this nation's financial system operates. It's very risky, it's highly leveraged and it's alarmingly interconnected. But, as far as I know, on a broad level, no laws were broken. To suggest otherwise without supporting it in anyway isn't useful.

THATS THE POINT!! this stuff was legal and makes no sense. The fact that a bank could invest your money without permission,or the massive deregulation,or the lack of accountability was ridiculous. They are crooks and thieves because they took extreme advantage with their corporate interests

Nobody stole anything. The financial collapse was a result of mass delusion, not criminality. I don't see how these people could reasonably be categorized as crooks or thieves. That seems remarkably simplistic and naive to me.

It doesn't paint him as a hero. It just feels that way because he's the protagonist. You feel his point of view most powerfully. I think the movie is remarkably even-handed. People calling it propaganda are just upset the movie isn't castigating these people. That's not the movie's job. (This one, at least.)

Why can't they do a non-fiction film about Ron Paul, how he could have gotten elected and prevented this country from going to hell in a handbasket?
