Gavin Wedell from Management Consultancy International describes the highlights of day one of the International Conference on Thinking.
The Keynote address was given by Howard Garnder, creator of the Theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI) which proposes that all people have (at least) eight specific intelligences.
The intelligences:
1) Linguistic
2) Logical Mathematical
3) Musical
4) Spatial
5) Bodily Kinesthetic
6) Interpersonal
7) Intrapersonal
8) Naturalist
The two scientific claims of multiple intelligence theory
1.we all have these intelligences
2.no two people have exactly the same profile of intelligences
Gavin also describes how Tony Buzan, creator of Mind Mapping, publically declares that we are now in the "Age of Intelligence".
