  • hi,

can you explain what you did to the lighting wire? (i'm assuming that is lighting wire.) it looks like heat shrink tubing? and then also plastic protective coil? where can you get those products? i checked radio shack for the protective coil for another project, but they didn't have any. i'm putting together a tamiya tundra now. which by the way, you influenced me into getting after i saw your vids on your tamiya tundra project.

  • @mentalmetal1 Hello, and congrats! Sounds like your having lots of fun! Yes... the wrap is actually from an Auto-Store. Its electrical sheathing for electrical wiring. Hope that helps :)

  • @djmedic2008 thanks for the quick response. besides the electrical sheathing, did you use heat shrink tubing on the wiring? and is that a tamiya light kit or some other custom light kit? i got the mfc-02 for my tundra and i would like to protect and organize the wiring like you did.

  • @mentalmetal1 wow.. you spent some money! lol.. Lots of it! The tubing I used (the sheath) is called "Split loom 3/8th inch). I did not use shrink wrap other than on the exposed soldering. This is the Tundra Kit, but as you can see.. I highly modified it. The mfc2 will be a fun upgrade.. but make sure not to get any water anywhere near it. Its certainly not waterproof and can short out easily. Good luck bro!

  • Just wondering if your ESC was sealed in that box also? If so how do you keep it cool while running hard. Thanks, Mike D

  • @mdivinc Hi Mike, you bet the esc was sealed in the container. To be truthful I never had an issue with heat. there was enough space in the container to keep it just fine. i checked quite often because it was my concern also, but never had an issue with it.. thanks for commenting!

Been looking at RC's like this one, but I think I'm going for a 1/8 Crawler (if I ever find one that suites my specs).
