  • @icandyarn i stay in india...will i get such machines here ???? ur sock was wonderful ..

  • @gayatri712

Not likely. I purchased mine from ebay.

  • how long does it take to learn the technique

  • @foxibren

It took me about a week. I'm a quick learner. It takes alot of practice. It's really not how long it takes but how well you grasp it.

  • How many stitches in the base row when you start the sock? Could one of those NSI innovations or similar circular knitting machines be used (or not cuz the diameter is so much bigger?) Thoughts?

  • @karenleanneramel

I used a 72 cylinder w/ basic sock yarn. The cylinder is about 4". I don't know what a NSI is so i'm not sure if it could be used.

  • This is one of the best instructional videos on the making of a sock on a sockknitting machine and I should know because I have them all. The instructor provides clear and concise directions including where to start and stop on the cylinder and use of the ribber. Up to now, I have not attempted to use my ribber but with the use of this video, I am up for it! Thanks.

  • I have looked and the icandyarn CMS video, pts 1 thru 3 several times. The videos are very clear and easy to see. The teacher is very clear in her presentation and shows how to do each step beautifully. This video is a must for all CSM crankers. I hope this lady does more videos on different techniques (ex: making argyle and other patterned socks. Thank you so much for making these videos.

  • @AkashaOConnell I know you were asking icandyarn that question, but I have somewhat of an answer. I have the same machine as she does. And it sort of varies with who's using the machine, some people are naturally more adept at stuff than others.

But with my machine I can make a full length sock in about 30-40 min's depending on what sort of ribbing I want, and how many ribbing types in one sock. So, I'd say, just plain socks with a hem top is about 30 min per sock.

So, a pair of socks 1-1.5 hr.

I purchased mine from ebay. They are about 100 years old. Usually need cleaning and some restoring.

  • gostaria de saber como adquirir uma maquina desta de fazer meias obrigada

  • How long does it take you to make a pair of socks, on average? This was a very interesting video. Thank you for posting. :)
