poi is all muscle memory! i'm having fun learning and practicing and gaining good flow! i'm at the very beginner level right now but it's fun! love to all the poi spinners out there.

most of what you showed feels quite natural as do low butterfly reels. it is the other side that i have trouble with (forward spin, behind the back)
any tips?

Afraid there's not much advice I can give you, besides keep practicing. If rolling your hands in the opposite direction is difficult, it's probably because your wrists aren't used to such an action, and are perhaps a little inflexible. My advice would be to do the action whenever you get the chance, both hands of course. Like at work, or waiting for the bus, if you're not already spinning poi, just roll your wrists to increase mobility of the joints. Apart from that, it'll just take time.
