Marsh Sandpiper(L22-25cm) has a long fine bill and very long yellowish legs. Japanese name of this bird means "small Greenshank" The silhouette of this bird resembles the Black-winged Stilt than the Greenshank.
Actually, on the marsh, it mixes with the group of the Black-winged Stilt. They are often mistaken for Greenshanks by amateur photographers.
This bird is relatively common in Okinawa, because Okinawa is located near the breeding area of the continental Asia. In the autumn, the bird comes flying frequently across the East China Sea and stopping over several days. The final destination will be Thailand, Malaysia.
