When this song came out "ADD" was bullcrap. Parents did their job as did educators, and 'pills' were the last resort.
This song was popular in a time when people had an attention span, could complete thoughts, and soak up a moment.
To the I-POD crowd...don't bother with this video. Move along to the latest hip-hop tune that entails some broad who got knocked up by a guy who has no intention of being a dad.

The montage was a little slow, but I like the song. Seems like it'd be a little better with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines, though.
