This is my first review, and I plan on doing more in the future. Youtube rejected my first upload of this, meaning I had to shorten it a little, so please excuse any choppiness. As always, questions, comments, and suggestions are ALWAYS welcome!

In this video I review the SOG PowerAssist (Black Oxide), a multitool designed and sold by SOG. It's a tool I've been wanting for long time, and I wasn't disappointed. If you would like more info on it, you can find it on the SOG website here:

http://sogknives.com/store/B66.html

It has all the components you might need for everyday fixes, and some unique tools for some not-so-everyday tasks.

Thanks for watching!

  • Nice review I however am verry suprised about what you said about the Leatherman Wave I have one and I do satelite tv installations and a bit of construction and it is hands down the best investment i have ever made in a tool I guess ill have to check out SOG if i need a new multi.

    Thanks keep it up...

  • Thanks Mike. In hindsight, the Wave is a very good multi tool, I found out that I was simply asking too much from my multitool. Even a SOG will break if you crank on it hard enough. Also, in retrospect I think I would have chosen the SOG PowereLock as opposed to the PowerAssist, it suits my profession and probably yours, a bit better. :) Thanks for watching man!

  • i cant find what the steel of this knife is, and y did u pay $140 u can get them for $70

  • Hey there wookie the steel is a AUS 8 Stainless, and as far as the price goes, I ordered straight from sog (122 dollars there) without really shopping around so that was my bad, but I also added laser engraving which tagged on another 15 or so, plus shipping. Teaches me to buy the first one I see :)

  • Nice brodus! I like that you have that ambient background music going it makes the whole experience more....alive i suppose, good vid!

  • I will definitely look into that, thanks a ton!

  • i have one. no complaints...yet. i may do a review. FYI you can order any replacement tools you want from SOG & customize your tool.

  • just got the powerassist, this thing is awesome and very heavyduty, all it needed was a little oil and its good to go,i will say the piano locking system sticks a little on the phillips head, but luckely with the powerassist i can take it apart and rearrange the tools, this thing is sweet!!

  • @deshmahn What exactly is your profession?

  • very informative, and quite hilerious, thanks for that,i just orderd the powerassist, cant wait to get it.

  • does this knife have a goos saw on it?

  • i know that this has been out for awhile and i am just seeing this but the one thing about sog is that their are interchangable you can buy a saw and switch it out for one of the other tools that are on it.(ex. switch out v cutter)

  • good review your kid was pretty funny

  • @OutDoorsMan500 cool, maybe I will get the power assist., don't need 2 can openers. right :D

  • @68wagoneer yeah, damn, I wanted to switch my kershaw ken onion assisted opening out for this . . . but with no saw . . . Ill go with my swiss I already have . . . or a powa lock.

man that sucks! such a bad ass knife with a huge set back.

  • Big, heavy. Don't fall out of the boat w/o a life jacket wearing this thing, you'll go straight to the bottom and stay there!
