Dionne & Burt - Three-Hit Medley

Both Dionne and Burt have had successful careers on their own after they parted in the 70s following their legendary hitmaking run in the 60s. But sparks flew yet again during this 1988 reunion. The Bacharach-David-Warwick magic/chemistry is clearly evident here. It includes three hits from their 60s catalog: A House Is Not a Home, What the World Needs Now, and Alfie.

The magic between Dionne and Burt tends to overlook the brilliance of Hal David's lyrics.

The words seem so natural, so real. But you try to take Bacharach's key and tempo changes and tell a story the way Hal David did it.

This is magic stuff from a magic era when three brilliant people were together and all at the top of the game.

the great Miss Dionne can sing in my living room day in and day out...an di won't mind.

the look on Burt Bacharach's face as he was playing the piano is that of sheer joy. that happens when you enjoy performing with a talent like Dionne.

Growing up in the 60's and 70's, Burt Bacharach/Hal David were really great I loved their songs. Dionne Warwick was the magic that brought these unforgettable songs to life and no one sings them like she does. What a team they were, and I will always love this music it just takes me up.
