thanks, it was a bit of a tongue-in-cheek question, being that Doug didn't really give an explaination for these videos.
Generally speaking you tell how good of an olympic lifter one is by how much they come off the floor.
Watch the big dawgs and you'll see what i mean.

Heel stability means everything for the recovery in a squat clean or squat snatch. Heel rigidity means everything in transferring the most energy to the bar during the pull and during the drive for the jerk.
