This is a project which took over five years of sporadic part-time effort.
I did the framing in mid-2003, the wiring in late 2004 or early 2005, the plumbing about one-half year later.
Then, in advance of a visit Pop, Shirley, and Dennis, I hung the drywall in late 2006-2007. This gave me a more-or-less functional space to accommodate Dennis on the basement hide-a-bed, as well as Pop and Shirley in the main guest room.
In summer 2008, I taped the drywall and I hired Shane Peterson to texture the rock before I painted the whole mess. In late 2008 I installed the finishing touches of engineered oak flooring and moldings, both in the basement main room, the bathroom, the laundry area, and the basement stairs.
This left only the bathroom fixtures to acquire and install, and I'm starting to get round to that task right now.
This presentation does not show the vanity I built and installed a few months ago, but pics of the project can be seen at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wilburg/sets/72157628459314405/
