You could be really right because I'm really no expert with such things. That was actually just a quote from the GMA Interview she did last year. Diane Sawyer showed that clip to Meryl and said: 'Such a soprano!' and Meryl answered in a low voice: 'Yes I was.' That's it.....

It is the play "Secret Service" which was written in the 1800's and deal with the Civil Wars. These musical performances were performed between scenes! Remarkable!

i mean if you really listen,she has the escence of julie,i should say.i heard some julie andrews,and im not comparing them since both are wonderful actors,but i just see a great deal of similarities in them both.

Wow - so pretty - thanks for sharing this! I never heard her sing this well. Never was that crazy over her "pop/country" style voice myself and the slight intonation problems. Here, she sings with beautiful color, intonation, and nuances. Regarding the mezzo vs soprano dilemna: voices don't always fit neatly in disparate categories. The voice faculty at my college scratched their heads for 5 years over whether I was mezzo or lyric - "a jack of all ranges - great at none."
