Birdcage, life-sized cuckoo bird

This clock is an example of the finest carving available. The clock hangs on an intricately carved backboard full of trees and brambles. The clock itself has a Bahnhausle design with a metal cage housing a life-sized, hand-carved and hand-painted bird. The bird flaps its wings and moves its beak to the cuckoo call. The clock-on-backboard design allows for incredible depth and dimension in the carving. The three-dimensional pine trees come to a delicate point above, and there is even real moss at the base of the trees!

The bird is finely painted to show even more depth and lifelike realism.

This grand piece is by Rombach und Haas and is exclusively available through North Coast Imports. It is an Official Black Forest Clock, certified by the VDS. This clock was also the winner of the VDS Best Black Forest Clock of the Year Award for 2003.
