Guild b301 A-F Fretless Bass sound demo by John Watson

A sound video of my Guild B301 Fretless Bass. Not a fretless player really so aplogise for sloppy style but gives an idea of what it sounds like. The bass is going through a small Roland Combo with built in effects.
Hope you like it and hope it gives an insight into the sounds you can get from this rare late 70's bass.

I can't believe so many people have watched this video! I only put it online to sell the bass while it was on ebay! Had I known it would have got so many viewers I would have 1. had a shave, 2. worn nicer clothes and 3. learnt to play the fretless ha ha. I can't take it down now because of so many nice comments - cheers everyone but I promise Im just guessing on the fretless - get one and mess about - they are great instruments and create a quirky sound no fretted bass can ever produce. hmmm - don't honestly know -I think they are ernie balls but nickel. Certainly not flat wounds.

Yeah man, rounds sound amazing on a fretless. The only problem (and it's a huge one) is the finger board won't last.

On a good day, I wish my playing sounded like your "rusty" playing. I have a B301F in mahogany. I love the sound with the tone dialed to 10.
