Carol Huynh (pronounced /wɪn/; born 16 November 1980) is a Vietnamese-Canadian freestyle wrestler. Her mother is a native of Vietnam. Her father was born in China but moved to Vietnam when he was three. Born in British Columbia, her parents were refugees from Vietnam who settled in the town of Hazelton after being sponsored by the local United Church. Coming from a wrestling family, where both of her sisters wrestled, she started wrestling at 15. She started studies at Simon Fraser University in 1998, then moved to the University of Calgary in 2007. Huynh married Dan Biggs, a social worker and former wrestler, in 2005. She is coached by Leigh Vierling, husband of former multiple women's wrestling world champion Christine Nordhagen.

She competed in the 48 kg weight class at the 2008 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal. She is the second ever female medallist for Canada in Olympic wrestling, after Tonya Verbeek, the 2004 Athens freestyle silver medallist. Huynh was the first gold medalist in women's wrestling for Canada.

  • She's as Canadian as all French and British Canadians. Any doubt?

  • I want to wrestle with her in bed.

  • Canada is a nation of refugees living on native land.

  • @Ngelcanfly Ok im sorry / jheezze

  • @ChillingWarrior

Well if you didn't know anything about politics, you shouldn't have insulted someone like Carol Huynh.

  • @Ngelcanfly Please can u shut up now / i dont give a fuck anymore / im not even vietnamese

  • @ChillingWarrior

Oh wow. Those are just empty promises. How naive are you to believe that...There are many corrupted officials in Vietnam taking bribes. So, how would you expect them to turn capitalism when they're too greedy to give up most of their powers? For the record, socialism is just one stage under communism.

  • @Ngelcanfly Please shut up? / your just talking shiter and shiter / Vietnam is a soialist country not communist for god sake / vietnam admited there gonna turn to capatlism and so is china.

  • @ChillingWarrior

oh really? That just shows how much you know about Vietnam. The country is controlled by the communist party. They dominated Vietnam, and still has. Voicing one's political opinions in Vietnam publicly will get you arrested. Plus, they escaped when the WAR took place. Even when it was over, I don't think they would want to go back to a country dominated by the North. Simple as that. Starting a new life in a economically stable country is everyone's wishes.
