How to modify a standard 9 grams HXT900 servo to have a 90' swing in both directions, giving you a full 180 degree motion.

Requirements: two 2.2kOhm resistors and a steady hand.

  • I have a question, doing this you still can set the servo in a determinate position? or you can only turno to one side or another withouth any position chosing.

    thanks

  • @Federico12455 The servo remains fully proportional. The only thing that changes is its "resolution" being spread over a wider range, meaning it is less precise.

  • Mine got jammed and hot and did not move at all. Any explanations?

  • @TheTuukkeli Are you sure both resistors were properly soldered? It sounds like one side not having contact.

  • good stuff :)

btw: which camera did you use for the close-up 1080p? Was it the X100?

  • @LondonRCproject Nah it was my new Panasonic SD700.

  • @SvenOkonomi Yes they were. I checked it. Should the servo be centered before modding maybe?

  • This mod could be also helpful for miniature retract systems. Good job. I'll have to try it.
