  • You cant mix african and south American cichlids, thats something I learned the hard way. I bought two firemouths and within a couple of days my african cichlids killed and ate them back when they were in the 20 gallon. The only tankmate I can keep with my african cichlids is their pleco friend, I went through several different speces of algae eaters and they all got eaten but the pleco is industructable

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 ya they were fine with my south americans it was the ph wasn't high enough with the new water the oscar def ate the yellow lab but the otherse died from ick

  • Cool well today i looked for my female betta and couldn't find her in her tank so I looked on the ground and she was dry and dead I think she jumped out gosh I feel so horrible just for the fish to have suffered on the ground it's unexplainable how horrible I feel

  • @airsoftpro251 that sucks man i'm sorry for ur loss man unfortionatly it happens though they jump out all the time betta's it's not common in but cichlids do it all the time surprised that a betta did that i'd get a greated lid for the tank so it doesn't do it again

  • I was also wondering if I could put a betta fish two eclipse catfish and 1 Raphael Cqtfish

  • @airsoftpro251 ya it should be fine but watch for the catfish to eat the betta cause they are gonna get bigger then them and might eat them lol

  • @airsoftpro251 congrats man and ya they sell them at petco or petsmart get a 6 in 1 test strip kit if u really have the money u can invest in the professional test kits but really for a beginner u only need the strip tester to make sure the levels are safe also give the tank 48 hrs before adding fish and only do 5 small fish at a time if they are medium in size only do 3 at a time good luck man let me know how it goes

  • @kihn56 petsmart mines 3 pieces we sell them for 29.99 each i just stacked them up like that

  • Hey Zach, I got my tank and is set up I need to get the fish and then I have to find a ph level test do you know where I can get it?'
