  • Personally, I'd rather listen to any of their more recent records than either of the first two. See You On The Other Side is still, and will probably always be, my favorite, though... thanks for posting!

  • @artrock101 I confess I haven't given anything a proper chance since 'All is Dream' (which I loved)... what do you recommend?? (mmm... I am sure you will say all of them!!!)

  • suzanne left to dave friedmann who is right to david baker while a grasshopper looks on in the back with donahue looking like that coyne dude.

  • Both Donahue and Grasshopper played with Thorpe at the ATP festival a few weeks back under the guise of the Harmony Rockets. There is also a link, posted a few days ago, on the Mercury Rev myspace page to a review that was forwarded to the band via Thorpe. So obviously, relations between the band and Suzanne are more than amicable. Also, in every interview I've read, they've only spoken about Baker with the utmost respect. He was even at a recent gg of theirs. Grow up and enjoy the music.

  • @hejafish Actually, check out "Dream of a young girl as a flower" over on the recommended column =>

  • @hejafish Well, you're right that I like them all, and if you loved All is Dream I don't think you'd be disappointed with them. The latest is amazing, but so is Secret Migration. Hello Blackbird is great, but more like instrumental soundtrack music than the "typical" dreamrock stuff. All of which can be sampled here on youtube. =)

  • I should also add that reviews for mercury Rev have not been poor. As with any challenging band, reviews can vary from extremely positive to extremely negative. Their last album for a 5 star review from the Guardian newspaper in the UK (one of the biggest publications there). The Rev have always had a bigger European following than in their home country. Often the case with the best American bands. You're a douche. Maybe a little less internet time and a little fresh air my friend.

  • Thank you. To everyone -- despite what ever crap you may read interviews -- the TRUTH is that Thorpe was kicked out of the band. And they did it nastily. She was not only the founder of mercury rev, that beautiful woman (inside as well as outside) was the HEART and SOUL of the group. that is why they are now proucing such mediocre albums, receiving poorer reviews and all in all generally not as successful. Karma. It was wrong of them to toss her aside so thoughtlessly.

  • you are speaking truth

  • you didn't mention david baker. He was completely shit on, and in subsequent interviews they have dissed him and written him off completely.

  • yeah donahue is a prick who wishes he was wayne coyne
