  • Our Church is currently worshipping in a school, and I was interested in purchasing the XK-3c, especially for travel convenience. To me, it even sounds better than the original B-3 and you can do more. Would it be wise just to hook it up in our main PA system for CD recording purposes along with our other instruments or should we get a seperate amp for this?

  • Well,the "Mystic Groove"is a bit Modern Gospel Oriented.

You Can connect it to the PA direct-no problem, but if the organ and keyboard player like-he can have a small speaker for his own monitor.

Hammond XK3C is a fantastic Organ as you can use it both with or witout a Leslie, with 1 or 2 manuals. With 13-25 basspedals. Now we also have foldable B3 style and bench and Legs! Its a wery sensible altenative to a old B3 as you can use it in so many ways. Also MIDI etc.

    Regards Patrik TWD Sweden

  • Thanks for the wery kind words!

The C1 is no match for the XK3c,XK3C also has the Dual Tube preamp witch the C1 dont have.

C1 is more of a preset Instrument,as You dont have any Drawbars.A real B3 clone that is serious bussines must have Drawbars!

The Leslie simmulator is realy top notch here, but a real Leslie is allways the best!

  • how about xk1 would it be a good buy.. ??

  • Its the best Organ Money Can buy in its Class!Sound is awesome,Drawbars, great,Tonewheel simmulator,Chorus Vibrato dead on.Etc.

    Also wery light./Patrik Hammond Sweden

  • @jomarcavalcanti Nord C2. And it is not at all a preset instrument - I don't know where he got that idea. Of course you have presets, but there are drawbars, admittedly not physical slides, but button acctuated. They work wonders - and you can adjust the speed with which the drawbars react. Having heard and played some of the other key compettitive clones, the C2 simply kicked ass. Though nothing beats the real deal, of course.

  • Tonewheeldude, I'm fascinated by what you've recorded WITHOUT A LESLIE!! You play brilliantly. I've played a v.2 Korg CX-3 for coming up on 6 years now (11/02, I believe just after the Version 2 was introduced - I love this clone!!). Question: have you played a Nord C1, and how does the XK-3c compare to it? I love the idea of a Leslie sim so good that one doesn't need the external cabinet! Thanks again for your fine playing.
