Part 1 in a four part demo on saddle fitting. Dealer is a Missouri Fox Trotter gelding that Kyle has been riding the past 7 or so weeks. He is used for competitive trail riding. His back has been sored from a saddle that doesn't fit properly. Our equine massage therapist has worked on him 3 times during this period and Kyle has been using a better fitting saddle. In this demo, he shows the difference between the two saddles in how they sit on this horse. Later, in a followup, he talks about sweat marks and how they can be used to determine saddle fit as well. Part 2 is entitled Dealer Sweat Marks. Part 3 is on saddle pads, using a different horse and this discussion is continued in Part 4 entitled Equine Preferences. Junebug and Joe have definite ideas about how they want their saddles to sit and what type of saddle pad they prefer. We even discover why!
