  • The Government will never recognize the juaneno because they are not together as a tribe. The people must work together as one.................

  • did the juaneno fish?

  • only one family of this nation was not disenrolled because of lack of Native blood, My family, the Cruz family. Sonya Johnston is not Acjachemen

  • Luz was my great grandmother. Julia my grandmother married Evaristo, my grandfather. Lucy is my father, Joe's, sister. Ceasar is my great Uncle, Richard my first cousin, and Michael, my second cousin.

  • @Mdoz2013 my father was Joe Diaz.

  • my father was Lucy's brother. Julia was married to my grandfather Evaristo. Luz was my great great grandmother.

  • Julia was my great grandmother; evaristo was my grandfather. Lucy is my aunt. Michael's grandfather, Ceasar is my great uncle, his father is my first cousin.

  • Michael Diaz to Mitch Diaz (pt 1 of 4): I actually visited the tribal headquarters several times and went to several meetings.

I spoke with Fran Yorba at the tribal office. She actually assisted me with my enrollment paperwork.

She helped me with my relations.

So, we are related to the Bracamontes and they were at the time enrolled.

  • micheal diaz to mitch diaz (cont): We were connected into the tribe via Augustine Ruiz - full blood.

Luz Avila was Augustines first wife, she was full blood.

She gave birth to Julia Ruiz - of course full blood.

Luz died from complications of giving birth to Julia (per my great aunt Lucy, Ceasars sister who by the way is alive and kicking). Petra was Augustines second wife. Lucy says she was named after Luz.

  • michael diaz to mitch diaz (cont): The Bracamontes actually took in Julia for a time as seen on the Census.

I believe Julia actually was hauled away to the Sherman Indian Institute and had her culture stripped from her. Still brings tears to me.

My uncle Richard (son of Caesar) has told me that Julia (it could be Luz) was sent to Sherman.

Julia married Evaristo Diaz, where we tie in of course. I remember him.
