Whip Ass Gaming: Super Puzzle Fighter II X - Y(2)

This is part 2(of 2) of the mode that is referred to as "Columns" mode of SPF2X on Dreamcast. It plays just like Columns, in that you try to match three(or more) of the same colored block to break them. What mixes it up are the timed blocks that you drop on your opponent. This can create a LOT of combos! Like in Columns III, you can save up to get a "Magic" gem that will turn all of whatever color it touches to the color of the Magic gem. This can create a devastating drop for you opponent, or be a hell of a counter for the ton of blocks your opponent has sent your way. The gameplay is combo-happy, it's fast, it's furious, it rocks. I recommend you either go out and get the DC version of the game if you only have the PSX or Saturn version of the original, or pony up the extra cash for the Capcom Puzzle World version of the game on the PS2, which also includes this and the Tetris Attack mode(Z).

this game doesn't seem as fun as the 1st one, the balls are gone and you need to align the gems in a roll to cancel them. I like the game when there was balls so you can align up a tons of big gems before you deliver the killing blow.

You're thinking of "X" mode, the original mode. I have a video of that mode as well. The mode you're watching now is "Y" mode, or "Columns" mode.

You can play in bat form, as well as use all of the other alternate uniforms and secret characters.

Try GameFAQs, but IIRC, you just simply hold down both triggers when selecting a character and, if they have an alternate uniform(or form), it will be displayed.

Y mode is interesting, its like columns and you can reach a fever easier than in the arcade mode. the Z mode is more of a tetris attack feel to it. I really want this on my PS3
