  • I love the way Danny walks off the stage, the boys gather together and turn the dogs lose on em! It was a chance encounter on a dock in the Arlington section of Jacksonville when I was kid that made me want to be a musician. Danny, me, a fishing pole and a bottle by his side. I just happened to walk on the same dock he was fishing on. I will never share the conversation, but I will say that we sat there a while and neither of us caught a thing...except me, I caught inspiration. God Bless DJB!

  • Looking back, Dave looked a LOT healthier than he does now. He looks so bloated and distended now that it wouldn't surprise me if he's the next member of the band to vapor lock with a cardiac and become the NEXT Hatchet member to join the great Southern Rock jam session in the sky.

  • @WoodstockBaby1970 Danny Joe Brown had the best Southern Rock Voice ever!

  • Serious memories from late 70's/early 80's!

  • Southernborn

    Per the Molly Hatchet songfacts:

Although Dave Hlubek's epic "Fall Of The Peacemakers" alludes to both Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy as well, it is primarily about Lennon with its overt references to "Imagine" and "Give Peace A Chance". Bruce Crump who now lives in Powhattan Virginia near Richmond Va has also confirmed this

Also an interview record with Brown by Jim Ladd says it as well.

  • Love Danny Joe's voice. A real talent.

  • If you love guitar, this song is like that first time you stuck your ding ding in that warm hot box and didn't have to stop until you were good and done. Pure fuckin ecstasy and bliss that can't be put into words

  • Well today i listened to this song cause i loved my dads music. And i stoped to think who is graiter than mollyhatchet? I pondered this thought. And i came up with the awncer... no motherfucker is graiter than molly hatchet. In his own ship he is a god, and he sailed his ship better than any.

  • @cowboy57hutch1 Dave Klubek wrote it. Danny Joe Brown sang it. it was common during concerts bk in the day for them to dedicate it to well 3 people. John , JFK and Dr. King. Back in the day i humped equipment on and off stages all over the place. When i was a kid my Grand Parents took me to Battle of the bands all over Jax. I got to meet alot of people as a kid. Watch some of the best southern rock bands of all time. before they were famous. Even the strongest band of all time. well.. IMHO

  • @Mr31368 Well,I dunno. I think they are both beyond awesome. Fall of the Peacemakers, Free Bird, In my own Way(Marshall Tucker), Like a Rock and so on are the Ultimate Cruising songs..songs that last a while. You can just kick back and drive and the song's don't end before they get good and started. There are a bunch of great bands with tons of great songs..enough where you'd never need to listen to the new garbage ever!
