Black. Brown. Gangs. A Father's Pain

I had the opportunity to speak with Jameil Shaw Sr. - the father of the young Jameil Shaw Jr., a young black teenager.. MVP of his high school football team, bound for university.. trying to do the right thing in the city. Gunned Down, just two doors down from his house. This is a result of the on-going struggle in the street of black vs. brown strife. The gangs are out of control. His mom?? Serving our country in Iraq... She's been called home to bury her son...

Also this week, in the Harbor Gateway area, Latino gang bangers shot up a car filled with a black family, bullets critically wounded a six year old.... Harbor Gateway is also the location where Cheryl Green was murdered as an act of racial hatred.... On the dirty street level, brown gangs are waging war on black people. I can feel the tensions.

But as Jamiel Sr. told me today.. it doesn't matter about color... this is life.. his son... the gangs have got to be stopped. We need to Love One Another!
