@dhampir1000 in all fairness how can you say its more effective when diamorphine reasearch anit being done an sadly may not come into force or is to expensive to use so diamorphine mybe better for some ppl, not all are suitable just like methadone anit for every one, but i think its propaganda thats to blame an bad education an treating ppl with addiction problems a wide birth an misunderstanding an mistreatment ppl start addiction due to there own circumstanceso dont be easy 2judge

@65NIXON lol what BNF are you looking at mine is 1999 an 50 tablets then would cost chemist £3.11 pence an this was back in 90s well late 90s and tthats what it costs wholesale to chemists like boots etc, but then if your on benifits its free or on a low income then its £7.40 per perscription so it doesnt cost just 50 pence its more in the end also if your unlucky youve to pay a private perscription price an in uk now there asking you to take it in chemist due to it being resold on

@phillip9539 ive been on perks and vikes for four years give or take, like oxycode 5,10,15,20,30 ect, ive cut back to help deal with wd phases im doing great, i can deal with the gas,aches,potty times and such lol, im down to 20-30 mg daily, how much methadone should i jump on and how long my boy sells it, 10mg pills, i got a zanny type gigh once without withdraw i just didnt like that i didnt get high but i face the fact i cant keep doing this shit, so how much should i take and how long...

@greg1235150 Crikey, that is early! when I was on ''daily pickup'' from a pharmacy, they fussed like anything if you tried to collect before 9.30am, [they open at 9am] and most pharmacies closed at 6pm. Luckily, now I have ''weekly pickup'' which is so much better, otherwise leaving town for a weekend is such a hassle-truly like being on a chain. And I agree totally about no ''daytime high''! one is just ''normal'' without cravings.

arrrgh! the Nazis didn't invent methadone...that is so old...it was invented way before the Nazis, and the patents were just taken by the Allies..it wasn't named after hitler-the Name ''Dolophine'' stems from ''Dolor=pain'' Sadly, methadone is a much worse drug to come off, as any long term addict will tell you. However, used correctly, it can help. I would agree it is awfully difficult to become totally drug free. am reducing down, and currently down to 66mg...after 30 yrs.

u miss the point methadone is exellent for long term users who dont even think about stoping addiction ,they want do drugs end of story ,so its better to give them medication(even to the end of their lives) than left them on the street ,selling their body or stealing and methadone is also good for people with short period of use ,so they treat people with methadone bcs its most effective
