Brazing Columbus Steel bicycle frame

Brazing the seat post inserts for my carbon seat stays.

I tried to depending on the angle of the union. Some required more than others. rod not flux coated. thx!

do you build up the entire fillet in a single pass?

Those were flux-coated rods?

Its all about application,if you have fittings theres no need for welding,because the tubing in a fitting has enough serface area for a braze,. coped tubing would be another story,that would call for welding.hope that helps a little

I would try to use .062 Dia. 56% silver wire or the 38% if you are looking for something more sluggish. We also supply the flux if you need this as well.

Just a couple reasons. Welds can crack over time. Also because the alignment is a big part of producing a good bike. You can weld a good aligned bike, but brazing in my opinion is easier.

I'm just learning to weld and braze. Why wouldn't you weld it instead of brazing it, since it's steel?
