@yeshuajob Repent literally means in the greek to "Change the way you think". as to your examples -

jesus and man - sin bears bad consequences

john the baptist - when you repent (change way you think), you bear fruit. simple. plus Johnny was an old covenant preacher, before the cross

Rev 2 - yep, they need to stop sinning. they're forgiven. they're holy in his eyes. but still sin=no good

hmm....then why did simon the sorcerer have to ask for repentance after being filled with the spirit? Why did Jesus tell a crippled man that He healed on the sabbath to stop sinning, unless a worse thing come upon him, Why did John the Baptist say bare fruit in keeping with repentance??? if i do not see my depravity before Christ i will exalt myself. to repent means to turn from and turn to, or to return. Why in revelation 2 there is a church that needs to repent? Shall we go on sinning?

Good to hear the GOSPEL for a change. Imagine a God who indwells those who come to him like children, believing he has TAKEN SIN AWAY and given the Spirit for newness of life, leading those believers into a new life serving and loving God out of thankfulness and love instead of guilt.

But that would eliminate purgatory!!

But then people would be able to do whatever they WANT!

Imagine the indwelling Spirit changing us into people who WANT to love, forgive and care for one another.

This revelation of truth will be the end-time doctrine before Jesus come back.

Ephesians 3:1-12 will live in all its glory before the gathering together of the saints, (rapture), when we meet our Lord in the clouds. Grace will dominate when Col. 1:27 becomes alive.

Everyday ask Jesus to flourish you with the abundance of Grace and a true, vital sense of the free gift of righteousness, that you may (absolutely) reign in life, by way of Jesus Christ. Ro. 5:17
