  • It's quite exiting to watch the finals some 25 years later for the first time actually. Brings back some great memories.

Many thanks to Bondarev for making it available.

By the way, it was Ochi's Team, and I can assure my self's that my Mae Geri did hit Yahara.

Kindest regards, Dieter Steinegg fighter #5

  • you have never been hit by one of these guys have you

  • Is it just me or was the referee extremely indecisive? He repeatedly called the other referees up after almost every attack.

  • Germany far superior, another example of poor judges and bias in Jpans favour

  • 4:32 that was at least a waza ari..judges were biased when it came to refereeing Japan vs any other nation. But I have to say that Yamamoto was the Ace card here for the Japanese team...his speed was from another dimension, and he really punched hard (unlike many today's competitors who mostly throw speedy punches with no power behind them).

  • japan had way better form and technique. germans had advantage in reach but slower and clumsier. sorry dieter sensei, but i think your mae geri did not reach yahara sensei.

  • Kagawa would have lost if the referee wouldn't have been blind. The uraken of Niklas Streit were much faster and Kagawas head was without any cover by the jab!

  • i love watching Kagawa

  • Why is the referee constantly calling the coaches?

  • Não se faz mais Karate como esse !!!!

  • Hard to believe, but somewhere on that tribune there's a 17 year old guy..me. Was there for kata only, but had to fight anyway when someone on the dutch team got sick. That was my entrance in senior kumite..haha

  • It is so nice to have the opportunity to watchy Dieter in action.
