Nice to hear Bing singing that great Gershwin tune. If I could pick any version of this song I would like to hear it would be the "Strike Up the Band" played on the Camel Pleasure Hour radio show from June 4, 1930. That is because Bix Beiderbecke probably played a solo on it. I wish someone would have recorded it off the air but no recordings have shown up.

Bing held the record for the most appearances as guest host on the "PALACE" [31 in all]. He usually appeared on the first show of every season, and this one was no exception....
