If it wasn't for Catholicism, hundreds of thousands of people would not have been tortured to death and this planet would be even more over populated.
Furthermore, these days catholics are doing a great job spreading AIDS in underdeveloped countries - so GO CATHOLICS GO!

@hunga224 The very title is flawed, meant to paint a picture of corruption, simply because the Church has various assets. For example, in a drawer in my room are the autographs of most men who walked on the moon. One day they will all be gone, and my collection will be wort a fortune. Would that mean I had 'secret wealth', in the negative connotation implied here of the Church?

@hunga224 And he is linked with this Avro dude. So what, a 2,000 year old institution has property, etc. why is this a problem for people? We all own 'things' -poperty, objects, gifts we've been given. The Church is 'evil' because it does so as well? The phrasing these authors use, like "secret" wealth, implies criminal doings or something. Again, it is just bigotry.

@hunga224 BTW it was not 'pediphilia' that was a problem, but 'pederasty', gay priests who had consentual sex with gay male teens. This amounted to about 90% of the cases. Big difference.

@hunga224 I know, sex abuse and sex scandals are found ONLY in the Catholic church. Every other institution and facet of life is completely pure and innocent of this.
